  • SORT team uses 9mm in their handguns
  • There's a prisoner named Billy Kempf
  • Glynn claims he's known Diane for "years" even though she only started working at Oz 6 months prior to 1x05, and 2x01 presumably takes place shortly after 1x08 (before the 10 month time jump of 2x02). Unless he's lying, this implies that Glynn somehow knows Diane from outside of Oz.
  • Beecher mentions he went to Harvard
S2E02 "Ancient Tribes" Details
  • Takes place 10 months after 1x08 and 2x01
  • Based on the rules for McManus's group (4 per), there should be 40 inmates in Emerald City. These groups last exactly 1 episode.

  • Nino Schibetta is shown to be 170cm, or 5'6.9"

S1E03 "God's Chillin'" Details

  • The drag queen who does Beecher's makeover is the director of the episode

S01E06 "To Your Health" Details

  • "B Block North Wing" signage in the stairwell down from the hospital ward, directly under "C Block"; unclear which floor exactly the hospital ward is on, only that it's above B-Block
    • Based on the previous episode signage, it can be seen that Oz has at least 4 levels above ground; later seasons demonstrate that the cafeteria is closely situated to Emerald City, suggesting that Emerald City is above D Block; if Cell Block 5 = E Block, that also tracks with Emerald City being on the 5th level of Oz—assuming B Block is ground level
    • In this episode, we can see that there are at least 2 flights of stairs above C-Block, which tracks with there being at least 5 floors over all
    • Obviously from a production standpoint, they filmed in a building in the first seasons and then the later set probably had the cafeteria and all that close together for filming reasons, but the implication in-universe is that Oz is several floors high, and that somehow Busmalis was tunneling from the 5th floor LOL
  • Original dentist's name is Dr. Kochurn
  • Receiving & Departures is mentioned to be after showers, and is where Gen-Pop and Em City bound inmates separate
  • The black history teacher has no named credited in the episode or on IMDb
  • There is a hack who sits at a desk in the weight room

Sister: That’s not what it means. I’ve read too many mangas to think that’s what it means.
Sister: Oh my… The law moves quickly, doesn’t it?
Sister: What are stundeens?
Me:
White person word, I guess…
Sister:
Balls?
Sister: I’m so good at this. Didn’t I say I didn’t like him being on the outside? He had crazy vibes from the start, even though everyone kept saying what a nice guy he was. I knewww….
Sister: (gasp) She’s just trying to get a date!
Sister: Is this lady going to turn into a murderer?
Sister: Why is he getting punished? For a confessing to his lack of involvement in the crime?
Sister: Ooh, 16 Candles moment~ …Wawa, he’s on something. … Oh, no…why’s he doing a strip tease? This is so embarrassing.
Me:
I knew you were going to say that, lol.
Sister:
He broke his necklace :(
Sister: Jeez… He’s like that guy in the… with the…
Me:
28 Years Later?
Sister:
Exactly…
Sister: Uh, you don’t look that similar.
Me & Sister:
(Twin Chortling™)
Sister: Who’s that?
Me:
Parole board guy Miguel punched.
Sister:
Oh… I thought he was Chico’s dad or something.
Me:
Why would Chico’s dad be there?
Sister:
[“I dunno” sound] ‘Cause of the overdose or whatever…
Me:
…But why would he be meeting with Miguel?
Sister:
Because he’s the only one left, duh.
Sister: Why is he always dressed like he’s going to some beach soiree? He looks like he’s… like he's...
Me:
(Already laughing so hard I can’t breathe) Princess Diaries?
Me & Sister: (Tea kettle whistling)
Sister: Miguel better not die! I was supposed to be his guardian angel!
Me:
I told you he didn’t die!
Sister: Suspicious! Is he going to overdose, too?!
Me:
No… Just watch the episode -_-
Sister: Um, so, am I like a bad guardian angel because, like, Miguel is back on the drugs…?
Me:
He’s still alive, though.
Sister:
But this means he’s going to be all high until the end of time? He’s not getting out as long as the one guy is on the parole board.
Me: Yeah, but he’s still alive.
Sister:
But the show is ending. It’s suppose to have end on happy note!
Me:
Why would this show end on happy note?
Sister:
I don't know!!
Sister: Didn’t those two people do it during the first execution?
Me:
Diane and McManus?
Sister: Lol, yeah. Why would you leave them alone together? Ew. Wait, so who's going to pronounce him dead, then?
Me: This is how Cyril can still live...
Sister: UM, you needa be asking yourself that, mister. I don’t get it, Wawa, what does he see in him? Ughhhhh.
Sister: I mean, I would be pretty worried about the curtains being closed behind her. They’re probably all murdering themselves back there. Plus, half of them are wearing fatigues so if there’s a riot, they could probably slip out pretending to be guards or something.
Sister: (gasp) He’s gonna give the real knife to him and the other guy’s going to think it’s him but then he’s going to accidentally stab the other guy and get stuck in prison.
Sister: Throw him over the edge! Do it!
Sister: This is the goodbye? Buncha shots of people’s sorry faces? … That’s disappointing.
Sister … This does not give Sister peace.

Stray Thoughts

  • The new education program at the Oz is to be named at Leo Glynn
  • Detective Tarnowski named
  • Haha, background Chico I never caught before:

Sister Final Final Thoughts

“I’m disappointed” —Sister

Sister: Half of this stuff doesn’t make any sense. I don’t understand why [Torquemada] wants to be like Miguel. Does he not know anything about that guy’s story? He’s been on a downward spiral! You’re a party dude, you don’t wanna be like him. Didn’t you hear him say “I’m tired”? Hello? And why was fucking fish and fowl even on the table??

Me: Did you have a favorite season?
Sister:
Favorite season? I don’t even remember what happened last episode. Maybe that’s the problem. And they were being really stingy with the flashbacks this time… Sometimes they give you flashbacks for the most inane things… I feel like they just threw away some of the characters. Like they should’ve given Said a better storyline.
Me:
For some reason I thought Neema had died in this episode, so it was actually a nice surprise that he only went to Solitary. I need to start re-factoring him into some of my post-canon fic plans LOL.
Sister:
Who’s Neema?

Me: Other thoughts? Favorite characters?
Sister:
What am I supposed to say? Everyone died… I will say that the lawyer guy is NOT one of my favorites. Hm… Let’s put Miguel. Let’s just add Chico on there, because you always mentioned him so he made an impression…
Me:
Don’t add him to the list just because of that.
Sister:
Well, you’ll notice that many on this list are simply people that I can remember. … Mm, Mr. Priest is not going on the list because he didn’t accomplish anything, so I don’t like him anymore. Very ineffective. I guess we’ll add Said. And the gay guy (Torquemada) because he didn’t have time to disappoint. The groups in this show are very rudderless…
Me:
So your list is Miguel, Chico, Said, and Torquemada.
Sister:
Yeah, the gay guy. What’s his name?
Me:
Torquemada.
Sister:
Is that one word or two words?
Me:
Torquemada. It’s one word.
Sister:
What’s his first name?
Me:
Alonzo.
Sister:
I’m gonna call him Alonzo.
Me: I just call him Torquemada because it’s more fun to say, to be honest...
Sister:
Hm… Should we add another person to the list? …What about the basketball guy.
Me:
You don’t even like that guy!
Sister:
Yeah, but he made it to the end, which means he’s a success story!
Me:
You can add him to the list if you can remember his name.
Sister: (lemon face) …I don’t think they even said his name this episode.
Me:
Yeah they did. They said it on the TV.
Sister:
But I don’t even remember the name of the balding friend (Murphy) or the female hack (Howell)… I just remember McManus! I don’t remember the name of the hotdog (Keller)… But technically, if we’re going by this criteria, we can’t add anyone to the list. I didn’t even remember Tortuga’s name. What is it? Alphonso?
Me:
How about you just pick a new favorite character. Reach back into past seasons.
Sister:
How can I reach into past seasons?! I don’t even remember the dinosaur (Omar)’s name. Ok, we’ll add the mother... the wife... Sharon!
Me:
Who’s Sharon?
Sister:
…Shannon?
Me:
You can add Shannon to the list if you want.
Sister:
But that’s not exciting!
Me: Why? You added Torquemada to the list and he’s only been in like two episodes—Shannon was only in three episodes—
Sister:
Oh, really? Ok, we’ll keep that, then. That’s interesting, isn’t it? There was that one pretty guy with the legs and the egg allergy (Supreme Allah). I remember him. Sister only remembers pretty people. We can’t add Peter, though. He blabbed his plans too much.
Me:
Okay, so your final top five characters list is: Miguel, Chico, Torquemada, Said, and Shannon?
Sister: Yep. You can also add Mr. Eggboy (Supreme). And Mr. Priest. He was also pretty.
Me:
You mean the Reverend? Cloutier?
Sister:
Yes. With the white butt.
Me:
So is this your list of favorite characters, or is this your list of pretty characters?
Sister:
Yes.
Me:
Any other final thoughts?
Sister:
I want to know what the poison was…. Who are your favorite characters?
Me: Hm… Miguel… Chico. Omar. Said. Morales.
Sister:
Oh, yes, Mr. Mustache… He had a good mustache… But he got so moody at the end!
Me: Would you ever rewatch the show?
Sister:
…I would hold on it a little longer if a clip came up on Youtube shorts.

Sister: You think no one’s going to notice? …You think no one’s going to notice? …You think no one’s going to notice? …You think no one’s going to notice?
Me: Why is he still here?!
Sister:
What do they stay so late for?
Sister: When has [Omar] ever schemed? Why would he be scheming right now? No, he does things spur of the moment.
Sister: Does he have some kind of life insurance policy out where he can’t kill himself and needs someone else to do it?
Me:
I have a new theory that his family died or his wife left him and took the kids or something, because he said he had a family. Which means something must have happened to them.
Sister:
Yeah, and he wants to leave them the life insurance money to make up for being a loser.
Sister: How he treats his special projects, haha.
Sister: They’re still doing this damn play? What, is the season finale gonna be the doing this play? And someone gets shot?
Sister: She came alone?
Me: Yeah, you’d expect her to show up with guards.
Sister:
Yeah, especially because there was the whole realization with McManus. It seemed like they were all going to come running, but it's just her.
Sister: Why are they still introducing new characters?! Aren’t they supposed to be ending the show?
Sister: …Why would Miguel be the man to know? He’s not even in the drug trade.
Me: I ask this myself.
Sister: He has a backdoor? In his bathroom?
Sister: The turn out for this party is not great.

Stray Thoughts

  • Bukowski getting arrested while shoveling weed brownies in his mouth is so fucking funny
  • What was McManus’s 40th bday party that they (according to Murphy) were wearing tuxedos?
  • Torquemada in the background of the episode before he's even arrived:

They must've filmed his bits first because Bukowski's still alive in the background of his arrival, too.

Sister’s Final Thoughts

  • “Why did they have a back door into the bathroom of the warden’s office?”
  • “They didn’t need to add the weed guy. They could’ve just foiled them a different way.”
  • Sister thought Miguel looking around the visiting room and hearing the baby crying was supposed to be spooky and signaled that he would back away from Cathy Jo

New Predictions by Sister

  • Someone will die during the play
  • O’Reily’s dad will either die or get incapacitated
  • Stella will come back next episode to finish her story with Bob
  • They’re not going to find Leo’s killer (the investigators will be as incompetent as he is)
  • Nobody else is getting out of prison
  • Something will happen to Cathy Jo, depending on how much the writers want him to go with Chico… (Me: The writers don’t want that… That’s just me). Oh, okay, then she’ll live and the baby crying wasn’t an evil omen but an angelic chord of inspiration. So Miguel will get with that lady and become the new leader of the Aryan Brotherhood. And that will be how the Latinos win. (Me: Be serious…)
  • Maybe the new gay guy will take over Em City like he wanted to and that’s how the Gays will end up winning.
  • Do they have a spinoff show? Because if they do, they're going to introduce like five more characters.

Me:
Yeah, that’s Dino. Guy who died in the very first episode?
Sister:
Uhm…..
Me:
He was set up like a main character and then he was set on fire at the end of the episode?
Sister: I don’t remember that. I only remember um… Jefferson.
Sister: And that’s why he decided to kill someone?
Sister: hey trying to shove a romance in here last second? With the nazi wife?
Sister: I don’t get it. He could just tell and get the insurance anyway, couldn’t he? It’s not like he conspired to burn down the machinery. (Sigh) This is why he’s in prison.
Sister: How did he get everyone to do what he says she he’s been nothing but rude to them?
Sister: They have to wet his head? For conduction?
Me:
Yeah. Haven’t you seen the Green Mile?
Sister:
Nope.
Me:
What? The Green Mile? Yes you have. Pretty sure we watched it together.
Sister: Nope. The black guy?
Me:
With Tom Hanks?
Sister:
Nope. What's the one where the dude threatens the guards and they get coke?
Me:
Shawshank Redemption?!
Sister:
Yeah, I haven't seen that one either. Or Saving Private Ryan. And I'm pretty sure we had Saving Private Ryan at home.
Me:
We have the Green Mile, too!
Sister: Wawa lied to me…
Me: How did I lie?
Sister: You made it sound like he died.
Me: Must suck to be Li Chen’s parents sitting there and everyone including the staff is really happy the guy who killed your son won’t be executed. Like, if you believe in the death penalty.
Sister:
Yeah, they're like screw them, LOL.

Sister’s Predictions for the final two episode/what she would like to happen:

  • Tobias isn’t getting released unless he gets more family members killed, but he ain’t got that many left.
  • Cyril will get sent to the mental institute and Ryan will probably mellow out if he’s smart and learns to reflect and be grateful. Or he’ll just keep being a dick. Or maybe O’Reily will stop showing up now that his storyline is done and then we can finally have time to focus on other people’s stories. I mean, what do we have left? Two hours? We got a lot to get done. But I feel like he’s a fan favorite because they do so much crap with him, there’s no way they’re going to just shove him aside. Even if he’s in the background, he’s gonna be, like, standing there. And there’s the stuff with his mom and the other dude. He’s probably going to bless their relationship or whatever and say he understands now.
  • Redding’s probably going to die because he’s not doing anything else so far. But if the show wants to end with a sense of calm, then Redding’s probably going to survive, or Poet and the other guy will die because they’re already getting messed with.
  • Miguel will become leader… Or maybe Chico will become leader, if he finds the leadership balls. Someone will come up to him and be like “who’s leader” and he’ll be like “oh, let me go ask Miguel”, which is like HUH? But if he had the leadership balls, he would just be like “Oh, I am!” …There’s only two options with the Latinos. Some random person? I don’t think so.
  • Keller will die if the show wants to end things on a calm note, but if they want to end things chaotically, he will kill someone and become leader of the white supremacists maybe.
  • Depending on how much time is allotted to other stories, Idzik will die as a casualty by someone else’s hand and he’ll die as he wanted, and Mr Dinosaur (Omar) won’t get in trouble.
  • The Muslims need to find a strong leader… The current guy isn’t leadership material so he’ll probably get overthrown.
  • Lord of the Rings type ending after the ending in the last episode where we do a tour of all the groups and staff with like Mukada and Sister Pete where it seemingly never finishes. The old people (Rebadow and Stella) are probably going to be part of the Lord of the Rings ending. Maybe they’ll do a little wink and wave with the Gays, if they’re really wanting to hit all the groups and give some representation before the show ends. Each group has about…. [some strange Sister math later] 10 minutes and 54 seconds of screen time in the next two episodes.
  • Next episode will be the action finale and then episode 8 will be a bunch of fall out and resolution so they can give the show a nice ending. Unless they really didn’t know the show would end.

We're back! After a week off because I was too busy with other crap last weekend!

I feel like this is the episode where things really start to take a downturn in this season. Controversial thing to say, maybe, considering that Said was killed in episode 3. But to me, this is where all the unsatisfying bits of s6 start to really get set up to go absolutely nowhere. While I didn't like Said dying, it's starting here where I feel the show takes that second wrong turn because if there was going to be any saving some of the absolutely nothing burger plotlines of s6, this probably would've been the episode to do damage control, or rather, spin out what's happened so far into something truly interesting. We could've skipped the Mrs Cutler stuff; could've dialed back the Robson plotlines now that Cutler is dead—or done the sensible thing and shown that he would not have been welcomed back into the Brotherhood; that he would've killed his rapist but lost the protection as well, dooming him to fend for himself; could've continued setting up something actually interesting with Neema and Redding and the Homeboys/Muslims rather than bring O'Reily into the mix. Could've done away with Idzik coming to Oz as well, or at least done something more interesting with Omar & the Muslims because of this. Morales dying a pathetic death (third this season) is another negative point for this episode. At least make his strife with Nurse Grace something that lasts more than like 2 scenes! The Mrs Kirk stuff doesn't add anything to the show other than to give Mukada something to do. But what I think Mukada SHOULD be doing is investigating Cloutier's vanishing, which could still involve Hoyt's plotline without spending so much time introducing this new random lady. Her role in the last episode was enough. -_-

Bringing Beecher back in this episode was good drama, at least, so I wouldn't change that, I guess. But there's a lot of other things here that just... yeesh.

Sister: He’s like a tired high school teacher.
Sister: The girls they get in here all look the same… and, like, she and the daughter-in-law (Carrie Schillinger) look like high schoolers. [Robson kissing wife] Eugh! Also this is supposed to be the early 2000s, right? She looks like she’s in the 80s…
Me:
Maybe she’s an 80s kid and hasn’t grown out of her high school cool girl aesthetic…
Me: Whining to a guy who's literally in prison for life and also whose money you ran off with... I don’t really get what Brass was trying to do..
Sister:
Trying to get Rebadow to kill Morales for him? Although he got too impatient to actually make the suggestion.
Sister: Does she hate Latinos or something? Prison full of white supremacists and she only goes after Martinez and Morales? Grace: You’re just like Martinez, a nasty man who deserves to die.
Sister:
I don’t know, he’s been nothing but polite to her from what we’ve seen! He said 'please' when he asked for juice! I think she just doesn’t like Latinos…
Sister: ...Your Asian father?
Me:
Do you think his father was a priest, too? Or does he mean The father…? Oh wait, his dad probably wouldn’t have been a priest…
Sister:
Maybe a late in life priest, LOL.
Me:
What a random detail…
Sister: After [Beecher] left, I don’t have any interest in this romance. I just want him to stay out and every time he comes back to the prison, I get worried something’s going to happen to him.
Me:
… Did you have interest in this romance before?
Sister:
No, but now I have negative interest! Get him out of here!
Sister: Who’s that?
Me:
Holly’s teacher.
Sister:
[pauses] [scrunches face] Is he supposed to be a catch?
Me:
đŸ˜‚
Sister:
He’s dated so many people on this show…
Me:
So has McManus.
Sister:
The confidence of the white man...

Stray Thoughts

  • McManus mentions he’s known Murphy from sixth grade
  • There’s a CO named Officer Schwartzmyer lol
  • An inmate-orderly in the hospital is referred to as Machelo (in the cc)... (Marcello, I'm guessing it's supposed to be)
  • Sister: Tobias should’ve gone to visit Bonnie and verify the situation first.

Sister: Okay… that’s nice… get out of there, before you get strangled or something!
Sister: Those flowers really don’t have any smell.
Me:
Yeah, he’s learning that right now.
Keller:
(sniffs a second potted plant)
Sister:
Can’t tell if they’re real or not, huh? We’ve all been there…
Sister: Can you not poke at them while you’re in here? Ooooh, he’s going to die in here. Ohhhh, [Sister] doesn’t like this romance. Nooooo… Get ouuuut.
Sister: She seems suspicious. She gives MLM lady vibes. I don’t trust her.
Sister: What the heck was that?
Me:
The suggestion of a flashback…
[Norma’s baby daddy fades in and out]

Sister: Who the heck was that?
Me:
Suggestion of Elliot…
Sister: Why does she keep saying weird things? What’s Incaptiva? I thought she was saying his parents were in prison. Is that a place rich people go? Captiva?
Sister: Has he noticed yet that Morales doesn’t have ankles anymore?
Sister: Uhh, sir! It wouldn’t have been justified even if you had proof! How are they explaining his ankles??
Sister: Yeah, ‘cause they’re banging! ...Have you noticed this dude kind of looks like your guy?
Me:
???
Sister:
Like from a distance if you're looked by really fast... They could be maternal cousins, I don't know.
Sister: …He should get a lash lift.
Me:
His eyelashes are like yours without it.
Sister:
Yeah, they go down. They need to go up. Swoop. Blink. Bam. The parole guys will let him right out!

Stray Thoughts

  • Monroe Boulevard is named as a location near Oz, as well as being across from an empty lot
  • Connolly Institute is mentioned as being located in Morrisville
  • 823 seems to be the code for inmate suicide
  • Sister was shocked to realize that Robson was never in Emerald City

  • Redding tells the Homeboys they will be working in the telemarketing office
  • Said is visited by the publishers who tell him the legal battles involved; Said decides to publish Augustus’s boo himself and pay the employees minimum wage; Idzik, posing as a reporter, kills Said

I accidentally started episode 4 instead and had to DIVE for the play controls before McManus announced Said’s death to Emerald City đŸ˜… So she already heard the part that was like "Yesterday, a man came to Oz pretending to be a journalist" and was suspicious when Said went to meet with a supposed reporter at the end of the episode. Whoopsss

Me: What does Yood get from egging this on?
Sister:
He gets to keep his companion.
Sister: He’s got that prison-itis where he just starts telling everyone his plans. He’s going to die in this episode.
Sister: No time for hugs! Leave, leave, leave! Get out first and then come back and hug him in the visiting room! Quick! Before the door closes!

Sister: Your boy is moving up in the world. Rebelling… Now that he made up with Miguel, it's time for a new leader…
Sister: Uhh, are they banging? Miss ma’am? What are your fingers doing?
Sister: I don’t get it, either… (proceeds to muse for several minutes)
Sister: Wait, wait, wait. They publicly revealed that Solitary is full of poison and they’re still just putting people in there?
Sister: His ideas are getting too big… Something's going to happen.
Said:
Mentions he's meeting a reporter
Sister:
NOOOOO... he's going to DIE.....

Stray Thoughts

  • Sister was impatient to see Beecher leave
  • Sister thinks Eleanor is Secretly Evil

Final Thoughts

Sister:
I was wondering why there wasn’t really a Said storyline this season, and it was because now he’s gone forever… I wonder if the writers got lazy and just killed him so they wouldn’t have to figure out what to do about all the legal battles. Damn, and now we won’t get to see Beecher come visit him and hug him in the visiting room… And who will be leader now? Arif? I guess so, but he seems to have control problems. They’re not going to bring a new guy in just to be the leader, because this is season 6. Everything’s falling apart… What are we going to do? What’s the point? Said’s dead…

Sister: The Irish guy (Murphy) got stupider.
Me:
Ryan?
Sister:
No, the other one. The guy who just went along with things.
Me:
Oh, Murphy.
Sister: Yeah, maybe. Also, if I worked there and they said that part of my workplace was contaminated, I would not be stepping foot in there. Not only did they know that area was making people sick, but they put people back there and continued to voluntarily step into the space. I’d be pissed. I’d be calling OSHA.
Me:
Did they mention that they are already fixed the situation and we just forgot?
Sister:
I don’t think so. I’m pretty sure he just said to keep it hush hush and then stuck them back in Solitary…
Sister:
Also, if they’re cutting him up in Solitary, how are they supposed to make up an excuse? Don’t they have to take him to the hospital? And they’re cutting his heels, so that’s like a slow torture and they’re all exposed to the contaminants. Like, shouldn’t that one lady be sick, too? The one who keeps going to all of the prisoner’s cells? And she works there? Ooh, is that what the plot is going to be? Retribution at last? Is the lady going to die? Hm… I guess it depends on how the show wants me to feel about them… 20 years later…

Me: Any predictions for the rest of the season?
Sister:
The lady may or may not die… Mm, I was going to say maybe the prison will close, but they didn’t even close it when it got blown up. They just moved everyone to a different part, so I guess not. Umm… McManus will leave, depending on what happens. The Poet guy may try to take control from Redding, and the telemarketing office is going to do credit card scams…. Miguel? I don’t know… He didn’t really have a storyline this episode, either. Other than being horny. Also, the priest is having some demon plot line… You know, kind of rude of Mr. Reverend to disappear and instead of hanging around on Mr. Priest’s shoulder, he lets the devil ride there instead. He should be coming over like “shoo, shoo, this is my guy”. Like, if you’re supernatural, and the devil is supernatural, then you’re on the same playing field. You could tell him to fuck off, that’s your shoulder. Or, you could send prophetic dreams to him and be like “there is no devil on your shoulder” like the biker dude said. That way Mr Priest isn’t all paranoid, looking at his shoulder and thinking he’s haunted.

Sister: I think Cyril will die.
Me:
Which episode, do you think?
Sister:
Episode 5…

Sister: (as Beecher) What about my father?
Sister (jabbing at screen): Don’t you dare mess it up for him! I see your eyebrows knitting an evil little sweater….
Sister: (gasp) Is she giving out STDs?! All getting sick? Same symptoms? Damn… what did she give them…
Sister: Why would he say that… “Books for the dead”?
Me: He’s feeling the Halloween spirit…
Sister: I’m just looking at all the things that have here that can kill people. This ain’t going to end well.
Sister: You wanna lay down some quotes for us to judge or are we telling not showing…
Sister: Close up! Let’s see how evil this lady looks…
Sister: What, she got family there? She got stock?
Murphy:
For Chrissakes, Howell, what do you got stock in Kentwell Communications?
Howell:
No, a brother.
Sister:
I’m so good at this.
Me: I still think they should’ve make him a communist…
Sister:
He’s not a communist? What is he, a socialist?
Me:
He doesn’t have a concrete ideology, really… They never gave him one…
Sister:
I just assumed he was a communist this whole time, to be honest.
Sister: Crapped his pants.
Sister: Wrong! That’s the problem with people in this place. They’re always telling each other their plans… (also tbh i included that first screencap because i always thought it was cute that Peter was trying not to laugh there)
Sister: Girl! He’s only 36?!

Stray Thoughts

  • Hecht and McArthur are mentioned as minimum security prisons
  • Plymouth House is mentioned as a juvenile hall
  • Sister was disappointed to learn last week that Adebisi never guest narrates
  • Sister thinks Beecher will die before he gets out
  • It’s mentioned that Said makes 2.50/wk at R&D

Final thoughts: Sister: So sad about Antonio… forgot his name… Michael? Good thing I didn’t decide to become his guardian angel again. That would’ve been so embarrassing… Very confused about why, um…. Mr. Linguini believed the guy who always lies when he came to sell his wares. Like that guy’s never just coming over to gossip normally, but oh, let’s hear him out? How tiny does your brain have to be to still believe him. He’s like the pied piper, he’s gonna be pying those pipes. Don’t listen to him, little rat… And I’m so disappointed they didn’t do an STD episode and expose that lady so she can finally get fired.

Sister: Did his brother die yet? It’s been six months since last season apparently…
Me: You think they’re not going to milk that out?
Sister: What, he can’t hear that screaming?
Sister: Jesus, lady, is no time sacred?!
Sister: He looks like he's been getting facials.
Me:
W-what?
Sister:
Chico’s skin looks better this season, and his hair is nicer looking. They both seem younger this season, too. Less greasy overall. Miguel finally can afford sleeves. Ooh, fancy. Cotton~ Impressive.
Sister: Hate makes one bald.
Me:
Did you say ‘hate makes one bald’?
Sister:
Yeah, he shouldn’t do that. He’s going to stress and lose all his hair. Just let them be… Don't try and get in their way!!
Sister: She definitely got fired from her last job.
Sister: Back from Jurassic Park…
Sister: Didn’t they already have this conversation last season? …Do you think they’ve been doing this same song and dance every night for the last six months? 'Cause, I mean, surely the Father prays every night…
Me:
I like to imagine that whenever there are time jumps in this show, they all just stand there in spooky stasis and nothing actually happens.
Sister: (drumming on knees eagerly) Let’s see that wife! I wanna see the wife! Is it Shannon?
Me:
Girl, Shannon is not in this place.
Sister:
(booing because there’s no Shannon) (booing because Schibetta’s wife never gets a close up)
Sister: Put him in the play. Handsome Man. Handsome Man #2.

Sister: (snorting deeply) I don’t know what he’s talking about. [Ryan] has the same poopy face with everyone.
Sister: (tutting) No wonder Shannon left him…
Sister: Who shall be his roommate now? Schibetta?
Me:
(wistful sigh)
Sister: Didn’t that guy used to have hair?

Stray thoughts

  • I wonder who told Peter about Ryan killing Nino
  • We rewinded to investigate the color of Meehan’s shitty underwear because Sister could’ve sworn it was red so she thought it was another eating glass story line
  • We also rewinded to check out Peter’s wife
  • Sister: The priest storyline and the mayor storyline are very topical… disgraced mayor Eric Adams… the Archdiocese (of Los Angeles) announced they were paying that billion dollar settlement for sexual abuse…
  • Torres is played by an MMA fighter named Frank Shamrock??
  • Sister says she’s willing to take on guardian angel duties for Schibetta but she’s still on the fence because she’s “not sure he’s learned his lesson” and she “can’t be representing losers—what will that do to my reputation”?

Final Thoughts

  • Sister: Cyril’s got a very strong demon voice now… Probably because he’s rooming next to Satan.
  • Sister: I’m surprised [Howell] hasn’t gotten an STD yet
  • Sister: I didn’t get to see [Schibetta]’s wife’s face fully, which made me sad. Although she kinda looked more like his mom from what I could see…
Sister: Someone was trying to be crafty with that [scene where all the Solitary inmates say their little piece at the window]. Like Chicago… Did they announce before this season that it would be the last?
Me: Oh, huh. I'm pretty sure they knew.
Sister:
Because I feel like they’re trying to be more cinematic… And they got like a higher budget or something. Like Chico and Miguel both have better clothes. And Chico looks better.
Me:
So based on this episode, do you have any predictions on where the storylines will go?
Sister:
I mean, I don’t know it can go where it shouldn’t have gone in the six months that supposedly passed… They didn’t really have anything for Said this episode… He was just doing his spiritual thing… And [Redding] was still grieving six months later, which was juxtaposed with Rebadow and his budding romance this season to carry on his family name, haha. I don’t know, did that librarian seem hostile to you? I feel like it was supposed to be romantic tension, but she kind of seemed like she was planning on killing him.
Me:
Any thoughts on Kirk and Mukada and the Satan thing?
Sister:
I’m just surprised that they haven’t found the Reverend yet. And he even mentioned the dude disappearing this episode but there still wasn’t any follow up like “yeah, where did he vanish to?” Also, when they were doing the Solitary voting thing, I feel like someone wasn’t voting very seriously. Like only Sister Pete was a dissenting vote against Schillinger getting out? McManus didn’t vote against him?
Me:
Any thoughts on the play?
Sister:
I wanna see what their budget it is. Because they had a really large background and paint is expensive… And they were doing props?
Me:
Well, they were probably using tempera paint… And those big school tubs are probably like $20.
Sister:
Yeah, but they have multiple colors… I guess we’ll have to see what other props they get… (gasp) What if the skull is real?!
Me:
(for the nth time in our viewing conversation) They’re not doing Hamlet!!

Me:
(snickering)
Sister: His name is “Wolfgang” and they’re not even going to let him into the Brotherhood?
Sister: I need to know what the direction for this scene was.
Sister: Aw… No homo…
Sister: Yeah, ‘cause you’re still here... Ooh, a haunting episode! just in time for Halloween!
Sister: Not the visible threat in front of the guards….
Sister: He’s going to die.

Stray Thoughts

  • Glynn references events from 4x12 as being “six months ago”
  • McManus mentions that his divorce from Eleanor was 5 years ago
  • Miguel’s cellmate at this point is Samuel Gougeon
  • The 6x01 preview at the end of the episode totally spoiled Beecher’s dad’s death… Straight up shows him getting stabbed and everything

Me:
That the hacks are pussies?
Sister:
Yeah, also, that’s like if I went ‘oh, [Wawa], people are saying you have black hair behind your back….’ What, you’re gonna get mad?
Me:
Ok, that’s probably not exactly the same…
Sister:
They should know what the deal is, that’s what I’m saying. And why do they always listen to that guy when he’s acting all innocent?! All he does is lie!
Sister: … Because it’s illegal probably?
Me: Lol… ACAB.
Sister:
I don’t know why they always think that threatening them like ‘you won’t have a friend in me’ is going to do something. As if any of them are friends??
Sister: Mm… yeah, this isn’t going to go well.
Sister: He doesn’t seem like a guy who just got surgery. Why’s it bleeding, like…?
Me:
Yeah, his racist gums are rejecting the graft, haha.

Me: Catholic answer.
Sister:
You know, the Greeks believed that men loving men was what set them apart from animals. Because animals simply mate. Me: She’s talking about the Bible, though.
Sister: Yeah, there’s your problem.
Sister: Maybe he should blow up the mail room. Then there won’t be one to work in. Idk, that would solve a lot of his problems, too. All the Nazis in there.
Sister: (bursts out laughing) Only 10 years? (giggling continuously) Only 10 years older….

Final Thoughts

Sister: Why haven’t they found the other guy (Cloutier) and why isn’t it being treated as a continuous mystery or anything? Like, he just disappeared and no one’s talked about it since then in terms of search efforts. Is he behind another wall?
Me:
You say this every week.
Sister:
Because they didn’t even show them searching or putting out a statement about it! They just, like, accepted it.

Stray Thoughts

  • Glynn managing to get Kirk on trial for Burns’s murder really kind of shows that if he gave a shit (which he did in this case because Mukada was harmed), he could actually get shit done in his investigations, especially because half of them fizzle out because he can’t produce witnesses or the witnesses aren’t credible, yet this case makes it obvious that that's not exactly a real problem for him

Sister: Why is it like that…
Sister: These writers haven’t been watching the show! [Said]’s tried to fling him off like a booger like multiple times. And every time he tries to fling him off, a little McManus fly buzzes over and reattaches that booger to his finger like “heehee, that’s for you to figure out!”
Sister: MC?
Me:
Master of ceremonies… McManus of Ceremonies…
McManus:
No, why don’t you try Mukada?
Me:
Mukada of Ceremonies.
Sister: You is special… you is kind… you is important…
Sister: They put him in a maximum level prison for that? He didn’t have no parishioners vouching for him, helping him get a lesser sentence?
Sister: Embarrassing. Doesn’t even look like actual...
Me:
Because he’s a dancer. Those are dance moves.
Sister:
Yeah, I can tell he’s a dancer by the way he moves his hips when he walks.
Sister: Exceptionally gay.
Sister: I don’t like that they call it a rectory…
Sister: WHAT is going on with his hair?
Me:
It gets better next season.
Sister:
He looks like he goes to Benjamin Franklin’s house on Sundays…
Sister: (falls sideways) OH… NO… MY EYES!!

S1!Said popping in like ‘the first, eh?’
Sister: I mean, he kind of just looks like a standard hot dog.
Me:
…What does that mean?
Sister:
He’s just average hot dog looking. Like his general shape. (gesturing) He’s got brown hair and he’s not scrawny or freakish looking… He looks like everyone else.
Sister: Glad is for gay people…
Me:
...Oh, GLAAD...

]https://va.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_sju31gPb5n1zpkc7m.mp4] (can't figure out how to embed to DW)
Hmm...
Sister: If this is a complete match, [Sister] doesn’t like this episode.
Me:
Why?
Sister:
I just don’t like these plot lines. Also, [Brass] is a dick.
Sister: That’s not a muscle…
Me:
We don’t watch this show for accurate anatomy facts.
Sister:
Oh right… Miguel said he was 80% water. (Tutting) They need to go back to class.
Me
(muttering): Together?
Sister:
Get out of here with your little fanfictions, Wawa… These people need education.
Sister: Who’s Mukada?
Me:
The priest.
Sister:
Oh. He had to ask Miguel that? There wasn’t anyone else?
Me:
I guess the implication is that none of the gang goes to church…
Sister: Yeah, but he could go to anyone. The staff… He could take a walk.. wander around… explore…
Sister: This literally doesn’t matter. This whole ‘wuh well it was self defense’ thing here doesn’t even make sense because it wasn’t self defense. The dude wasn't attacking [Cyril]. And even if they thought they had a good reason for attacking the Chinese dude,, that doesn’t change anything because you can't just kill someone because they said something you don't like. They literally have no defense. Also, hasn’t he killed like three people?
Me:
Besides the Gloria’s husband, two.

Stray Thoughts

  • Sister had an ongoing commentary about how ugly Beecher’s hair was. Her musings literally spanned the entirety of the Beecher story section
  • Sister wonders why nobody seems interested in the fact that Cloutier disappeared (lol forgot to finish my thought)
  • Our mom called while we were watching the episode lol

Sister: That’s why they gotta stop announcing everything they do in this show, like...
Sister: I feel like [Norma’s] just dead at this point.
Sister: I feel like they’re leading up to him being like a mass shooter or something.
Me:
You think he’s gonna snap?
Sister:
He seems like the type...
Sister: …I think being free would making him happy. I mean, [Toby] had that whole vision about being free that did not include [Chris], so I think he’ll be fine.
Sister: You can just tell them anything and they’ll let you through…
Sister: What’s wrong with this guy? What’s he in for?
Me:
Hate crimes… Murder, officially, I think.
Sister:
Hate crime? What’s he sniffing people for?
Me:
He's just a perv...
Sister: …That’s so gross… In my sickened state*, I can’t even summon a bleugh.
Me: [Retching noise]
Sister: Thanks.
(*We got some booster shots yesterday and Sister always gets sick afterward lol)
Sister: When are they going to address that guy whose wife also died?
Me:
Never.
Sister:
So why did they introduce her?! To spout off some facts and get shushed by the priest??
Me:
Maybe there was originally supposed to be more of a story to it and it go cut.
Sister:
No, they just wanted to do their little after school special moment and then not deal with it. You know, if any of the Muslims should be having the issues in these episodes, it should be the other guy (Arif), not Mr. Said...
Me:
They could have issues together.
Sister:
Yeah. Kill the Nazi helper dude. The one who's egging everything on. Schillinger doesn't even really do stuff on his own anymore. Before, he didn't want to fight and wanted to become a Jesus freak and it was always that guy whispering in his ear. And now look.
Sister: How we know he’s not gonna build a bomb in there? … Oh, I guess they took away all the cleaning supplies…

Stray Thoughts

  • Sister says Jia Kenmin and Li Chen’s plan to provoke Ryan so they could kill him in self defense was really not thought-out
  • Sister is convinced that someone is going to die for one of the dogs
  • Sister believes that killing Robson would get rid of most of the Aryans’ bite since she views him as being the worst out of all the Aryans

Final thoughts

  • The scene where Robson and what’s his face torture Lalar is the toughest scene to watch in the entire show, imo. And it pisses me off (like, I’m actually getting mad thinking about it right now, lol) that Robson gets more expansion in terms of character as the show progresses, too, because whooooooooo gives a shit about a Nazi?! They still haven’t followed up on Arif’s wife LMAO. Also Urbano gets introduced this episode and they don’t end up doing shit with him, really, either. But let’s learn about this asshole!!
Sister: I feel like they’ve run out of storylines with the Muslims and are just repeating past ones. Wasn’t it [Arif] who was the one complaining about Said’s leadership the last time? And then he couldn’t handle it which caused the whole thing… and now he’s doing it again?
Me:
I think they just don’t like when Said helps other people. They complained when Said was spending time on Beecher, too…
Sister:
Yeah, [Arif] is so needy… He’s like “you’re spending too much time with your roommate who you have to stay in a cell with” and also every time he is around, [Said] just wants [Omar] to be quiet anyway…

Sister: I hate his tattoo so much.
Me:
Yeah, and that’s a real one, too.
Sister: Why would your guy not be happy about scores being settled?
Me:
‘Cause he just wants to bother Miguel, that’s why.
Sister:
Why doesn’t he go fight the white guys?
Me:
‘Cause he just wants to bother Miguel.
Sister:
It doesn’t make sense…
Me:
He just wants to bother Miguel.
Sister: No, not that! It’s going to be too dangerous—
Miguel:
Kill Guerra.
Sister: SEE, I told you! …Who’s Guerra? Is that your guy
Me:
đŸ˜‘ He’s not my guy…
Sister:
What, he belongs to the streets?
Me:
đŸ˜‘
Sister: I think he’s going to buy the lottery ticket and win and then he’s going to keep it for himself.
Me: He’s doing that Asian bullshitting thing right now, don’t you think?
Sister:
Totally… Pretending he reflected, LOL… Playing the Buddhist angle...
Sister: “Li Chen”? How lazy can you be?
(It's a pretty generic name)
Sister: Jia Kenmin… why’s his name like that?
Me: Yeah, it’s kind of old-fashioned. It’s like Daddy’s generation of names…
Sister: No, I mean, they say it the Chinese way…
Me: Oh, I know! I was literally wondering about that the other day!
Sister: His hair looks so bad.
Me:
Yeah, the length really accentuates his hairline in a bad way.
Sister:
It’s medieval squire length….
Me:
It’s not doing him any favors… It looks good short, though.
Sister
: It’s not short, though, is it?
Sister: Not the butt pop… His booty muscles…
Me:
His butt’s definitely up there in the rankings…
Me: I wonder what determines whether they use the sinks here or their cells.
Sister:
Yeah, I’d just use the one in my cell. Especially because that guy (Augustus/Narrator) said that you could get shanked in the shower if you turn your back.
Me: I wonder if they only did this singing plot line for him because the actor was in The Five Heartbeats…
Sister:
What’s that?
Me:
It’s a mini-series about like this fictional motown group… The guy who played Jefferson Keane is also in it.
Sister: Oh, then they definitely did it because of that.
Sister: Why would they put him here to guard a civilian? What’s he gonna do if a prisoner gets agitated? Hobble over? He should be on desk duty.
Me:
He didn’t want to be on desk duty.
Sister:
So? They need to put him on it anyway. And if he quits because he hates sitting at a desk too much, then their problems are solved anyway. They don’t have to worry about a liability and they don’t got to pay anything, either, ‘cause he quit himself…
Sister: She gets way too involved with her patients, man…
Sister: He’s risen and he’s hiding in the laundry room.

Stray Thoughts

  • The apparent gang tattoo on Jia Kenmin’s hand just says “blood” btw
  • Sister: The have the guy in the wheelchair talking about his wife again and still nothing from the Muslim guy whose wife was also on the bus…

Miguel:
...Being that you only got one good eye, droopy-eyed motherfucker
Sister:
That’s what I said!
Sister: THAT’S what he got from the old man’s speech?
Sister: What’s his vendetta again?
Me:
Uhh…
Sister: [Sister] don’t want to watch this. So embarrassing. (holds up blanket and peers over to watch)
Sister: A fellow bisexual!
Sister: He’s like a little gremlin.
Sister: Off to disappoint his mother.
Sister: Tell her about the chicken incident!
Me:
What chicken—oh, right.
Sister:
Mr. Muttonchops (Beecher).
Me:
Yeah.
Sister:
Turned him into a rotisserie chicken.
Me: I got that.
Sister: Why are you back?? You should be suing their asses off and retiring.
Me:
Maybe their union sucks…
Sister:
Look, he’s still limping even. He should be on worker’s comp… He still needs physical therapy…
Sister: Who are these random people sitting at the table?
Me:
Well, they did one time say that there are 10 other units like Unit B, so they’d have to have other unit managers I guess…
Sister: How does his friend not know who his ex-wife is?
Me:
I think they were like friends when they were younger.
Sister:
Or they weren't married that long...
Sister: He’s just trying to stir up shit.
Sister: He’s getting the Chinese athletes treatment.
Sister: He’s getting the military treatment.
Sister: I don’t like it when people use the toilet as a chair. Especially if then they get on their bed later. Gross!
(Said gets on his bed)
Sister: NOOO!
Sister: Wow...

Stray Thoughts

  • Sister was very gleeful over Eleanor being McManus’s ex because it means not another workplace relationship storyline
  • Stab count: 3 (and today is national knife day!)
  • While watching this episode, I noticed that the camera direction felt more ambitious/had more intention. Out of curiosity, I went to check and IMDb says that this episode was directed by Kathy Bates!
  • Sister: Did you notice the only one they didn’t give a grieving arc to in this episode was [Arif]? All the other characters with relatives on the bus got a little storyline.

  • Mrs Hill and Mrs Arif talk; Augustus’s wife divorces him
  • The bus crashes and only the baby and the priest survive
Sister: Why do they keep doing these cut aways to the driver? Is something bad going to happen?
Me (thinking):
And here I was wondering why they would show the bus flipping over at the start of the episode…
Sister: Oh no, he did two of the same eyeball.
Sister: Why is Miguel even still in Solitary? All he did was run away. [Omar] killed a bunch of people!
Me: No, he didn’t.
Sister:
Didn’t we go over this last week?
Me:
Yeah, but he didn’t kill anyone in Oz—
Sister:
The guy in the TV!
Me:
Oh yeah…
Sister: He looks like he’s going to cry. Sounds like it, too.
Me:
He's an emotional guy.
Sister: Pervert…
Sister: Concern.
Sister (sighing): Why are they still on this damn bus? It’s been like four days and they’re still on this bus. What, was he cursed by demons to talk to everyone on here before we can leave this place?
Sister: Wow, 128 megabytes of RAM!
Sister: This guy’s a terrible investigator. You could lay out all the clues in front of him Encyclopedia Brown style and he’d come to the wrong conclusion, go to the end of the book, and say it was wrong. Or he’ll decide he doesn’t care and never flip to the answer in the back.
Sister: Who’s that?
Me (mishearing):
Shamrock.
Sister:
I said WHO is that?
Me:
Liam.
Sister:
Who the hell is Liam?
Sister: See? The sun’s setting and they’re still on the road! They've been driving since morning!
Sister: He’s named after the same guy as Gus the mouse from Cinderella…

Stray Thoughts:

  • Penis count: 1 (+infinity extras)
  • It is revealed Gloria was reprimanded by the state medical board and fined but retained her license

Final Thoughts:

Sister: Called it. Knew something bad was going to happen.
Me:
It was literally at the top of the episode.
Sister:
I thought it was a different bus. I thought it was someone’s flashback because they are it seem like the truck driver was the bus driver…
[..]
Me:
Miguel’s out of Solitary.
Sister
: They didn’t show who he’s rooming with, though.
Me:
Do you think that's going to come into play?
Sister:
Uhh, yeah?
[...]
Me:
What are your predictions for season 5?
Sister: I feel like this bus crash will have no impact.

Me: Everyone’s meeting with their lawyer in the visiting room today…
Sister:
They’re having a convention at the Marriott so they thought they'd swing by.
Sister: Why’s he so tan?
Me:
...Probably because they don’t actually live here.
Sister: Hmm… Well, since Egg Man is dead, guess he can be the new eye candy. They keep sending them all away, though, so I bet he’s going to die soon anyway…
Sister: Tendeth? That’s what [Sister] does. Adds an -eth on the end of words!
Sister: (gasp) The cast of monte carlo…. The cask of… amontadillo… What is it? The cast… the cask… of amonte… amontypython?
Sister: Going to start saying this when anyone tries to talk to me on the toilet.
Sister: (perks up) Oh, are we going to end Solitary confinement? (pause) Nah… He doesn’t have the brain power to make that connection… He just wants the delusions to end so he can stick him back in Solitary.
Sister: Not this again. [Sister] doesn’t want to watch this…
Sister: Yeah, he killed like four people!
Me:
He didn’t kill anyone.
Sister: The guy in the TV?
Me:
Oh right. Well, before, though. He just stabbed McManus, he didn’t kill anyone.
Sister:
He stabbed your guy, too!
Me:
(laughing) Oh yeah… He didn’t stab anyone else, though. Just McManus. He attacked the reporter guy but didn’t stab him.
Sister:
(pained sigh) You have selective memory just because you find him amusing… He’s like a troublesome little dinosaur to me. Gotta keep my eye on him…
Sister: I can’t even remember it and I’ve been watching this every Saturday for months...
Sister: (suddenly turning to me) Question for the community: why hasn’t anyone noticed yet that the church guy is missing?
Sister: He’s not out?! Oughhhhhhhhhhhhhhh….
Sister: You know, when they say they’re hardened criminals, you don’t expect them to have, like, turtle plates… The hacks die so easily… It’s because they don’t have osteoderms like the prisoners… The doctor’s going to do another unethical medical trial and discover all the prisoners are turtle people.
Sister: Um.. they don’t really believe in you, though. They got, like, weak minds… And you constantly bamboozle them…
Sister: So embarrassing…. No boom?

Stray Thoughts

  • Prisoner named Hardin who works bedpans
  • Penis count: 1
  • Old man butt: 1
  • Sister was suspicious of Tobias’s entire release sequence due to how ominous she found the outdoors; she kept thinking Beecher would get killed
  • The J&B whiskey bottle looks pretty much exactly like Chinese black vinegar bottles which makes it funny to see characters like Glynn with the bottle on their desk
  • Spotted another Chico lip lick during the scene they finally get HBO in Oz lol

Me: This episode is called “even the score”.
Sister:
If there’s no Miguel this episode, the score ain’t settled.
Sister: Dumb. And that’s your favorite guy? The guy with the meager mouse brains?
Me:
I never said he was a role model...
Sister: I don’t even think that’s him.
Me:
Yeah, I think they just stuck in archive footage for the later part of season 4. That’s why his lines sound so canned.
Sister:
They're trying to give me crumbs! Boo! I sweep these crumbs away.
Sister: Unjust? They care about that? I thought he just kept people in there however long he liked. Miguel’s in there and he didn’t even kill anyone.
Me:
I mean, neither did Omar.
Sister:
Yeah, and they’re letting out the killer?
Me:
‘Cause they lost the proof.
Sister:
That matters to him?!
Sister: I wouldn’t be so impressed if I was the scout watching him play against an old guy and a guy with a busted knee. I mean, I feel like I’d have a chance at beating them too.
Sister: Could he hear them?
Me:
I think he just saw them. But It’d be kind of funny if he could, because everyone else in Oz is always conspiring at the same volume.
Sister: Why doesn’t he do any of the work? What can you do? Is this how you get to the top? Not being able to do things yourself?
Sister: (loud sigh) He’s going to make a BOMB….

Stray Thoughts

  • Why is Chico shirtless in his mugshot?
  • Drug counseling is at 1:00pm
  • Code 44 is for dead inmates, i guess
  • The Governor of Illinois is mentioned: George Ryan
  • Sister says Dave Bass looks like he’s supposed to be a white supremacist
  • Sister was very questioning of the choice for Ryan to name drop Newman’s Own popcorn of all brands. Something I've failed to mention maybe is that she tends to latch onto sometimes random points in the episode. Last episode it was the legal question of why Connolly would be detained at Oz and this episode saw her researching the pop culture relevance of various popcorn brands through the years, trying to figure out why Newman's Own got mentioned.

Final Thoughts

Me: Final thoughts?
Sister:
No stakes. Didn’t see Miguel. Just a stock insert.
Me:
No stakes?
Sister:
I know there’s still more seasons, so i don’t feel concerned about this bomb thing.
Me: What if the bomb plot changes how it is going forward?
Sister: What, like there’s a breeze.?
Me:
Yeah, what if there’s a giant hole in the prison for the rest of the show?
Sister: Well that’d be pretty nice. Get some sunshine. Set up a little camp, name it Camp Half Blood. Have the centaur walking around.
Me:
Supreme Allah?
Sister:
Yeah, him and his hind legs. …
Sister:
Are they going to be playing this [basketball] game for much longer?
Me:
They still have one more game, so yes.
Sister:
(tortured sigh) …
Sister:
Everyone needs to stop telling each other their plans. The only time it’s worked out was Mr Former Mutton Chops (Beecher) telling the parents his plan for parole and then telling them his sad story. Every other time, people tell someone their plan and then that person is like “Oh yeah? I’m going to make a different plan!” They need to tell their plans afterward, like “Did you see that cool bomb that just went off? Yeah, that was me.” Also, like, your guy with the lazy eye, he told [McManus] his plan and then that blew up in his face, too.
Me: He didn’t say his plan, though.
Sister:
He made insinuations.
Me:
He had a plan and then he executed part of it but forgot that he would also be there when the plan unfolded. So he attended his own plan as a popcorn eater.
Sister: Yeah, and it was a 4D movie.
