AU where oz is just an insane workplace drama

the workplace being the kitchen
many near stabbings
kitchen staff fighting kitchen staff from neighboring establishments - italian restaurant and soul food and what have you.... the Irish work at an sportsbar that's dedicated to the Celtics. obviously
there is definitely still crime and drugs in this AU, it's just not set in prison lol
mcmanus is uhhhhh the local food critic/columnist
hacks rotate in as food safety inspectors/beat cops, etc
chico is a line cook. he once tried to kill his sous chef miguel alvarez and vice versa and somehow they still work the same shift because the boss (morales) literaly does noooooot care (legend has it chico and miguel were once seen making out in the walk-in freezer)
kenny definitely busses in this AU but he briefly considers interning/shadowing mcmanus who encourages him to go to culinary school if he likes the biz but kenny ultimately decides not to be he'd rather be a restaurant manager and boss people around than work in the kitchen. for the time being, he continues to be a busboy
Toby's restaurant businesses keep going under in increasingly tragic ways
Chris definitely still tries to con him at some point as a sort of local business sabotage ploy at the behest of schillinger, who runs a 50s themed diner (the good ole days)
Kareem runs various non profits meant to combat food waste and keeps trying to get the other businesses to work with him to give back to the community and they're like lol
Busmalis and Rebadow DO NOT work in the kitchens they are the regulars who buy the weird soups and sandwiches and newspapers, etc, at the deli inside Augustus's corner store, where many pass through for cigarettes and energy drinks. maybe rebadow is a retired maitre'd tho
