Nothing to Lose AU with McManus and Omar

Big exec guy McManus thinks his wife is having an affair with his boss and loses his absolute mind, driving off in a lost daze
Omar is the bumbling car jacker who tries to rob McManus at a stop light only to get taken on a suicidal joy ride through town and out into the desolate wastelands of… idk, Vermont, where they subsequently fight and later hold up a gas station and lead in a police chase (narrowly escaping), and then NOT robbing a second gas station
Now the question is: Who are Charles and Rigs, the robbers who have the claim on crime over the stretch of highway where McManus doesn’t actually rob a gas station but they think he does?

My vote is Miguel is Charles (lollipop) and while I’m aware that, visually, Ryan would be a good fit for Rigs (tall and white) and also they’re both homophobic (lol), the nose ring and specific combo of mean + dumbass + susceptible to the moving speech of the white protagonist reminds me of Otto Sanchez’s character from Double Whammy. Also I think Chico’s penchant for violent solutions and his flip between blank faces and angry confused faces would really make him fit. Also he has no respect for either Omar or McManus. And this is my AU. So it’s Chico and Miguel who are the ones who go after McManus and Omar to steal back their “owed” loot
I think everything can basically follow a lot of what happens in the movie, except that it takes place on the East Coast instead of West
And maybe McManus’s wife really does cheat on him with Glynn 💀 so the thing that makes him change his mind and want to return the money they stole was that maybe he works for a nonprofit and after he’s done being crazy, he realises it’s not money he should be stealing and decides to just do the right thing
Sunset ending except Omar doesn’t have any canonical family so I guess idk, McManus introduces him to whatever community program Said and the Muslims are up to in this AU
And maybe Miguel and Chico still get caught by the cops but since they don’t match the description of a short white man and tall black man, they’re let out of jail soon after to go return to terrorizing the highways of Vermont
